Summary: A story of young summer love that turns into so much more. He gives her what she needs without ever knowing. She cuts him down without realizing how far she's gone. A story where time has no meaning and love that might have a limit.

Author's Notes: WARNING: This story is not happy. It is heartbreaking. I will not guarantee a happy ending and that doesn't mean there WON'T be one, I'm just preparing those of you who get up in arms about angst to prepare yourselves for a tear-jerking, emotional ride that won't end with white horses and rainbows and kittens in cute wicker baskets. There will be some Spike/other and Buffy/other, but nothing too graphic and nothing you wouldn't expect, judging by the characters I've created here.

There also isn't lots of smut, so for those of you just wanting to read about sex, please leave now. For those of you wanting to read a STORY, please stay and I'll hold your hand while we wipe one another's noses with tissue.

About the style choice: Every time you see a section break (* * * *) that means we're going to a different part in time. Not one part of this is in chronological order. We jump from the past to the future to the near present to the past again and I promise it makes sense, so just know that what you read in the section before isn't preceding what you're reading in the next section.
