Summary: Buffy is a rich princess type, brought up by millionaire parents who care more for their reputations than for her. She meets Spike, an artist who's happy to work different jobs just to make a few bucks here and there. Of course, Buffy's parents don't exactly approve of their daughter's budding romance...How far will they go to stop them being together? And how far are Buffy and Spike prepared to go to do just that?
Buffy was waiting down at the bottom of her driveway at 8.00 when Spike pulled up on Saturday. He wished he could read that as a sign of eagerness, but knew it had more to do with not wanting her parents to see him. Just another person deeming him not good enough.
“Hey Spike!”
He glanced at her coolly as she climbed in, trying to hide his hurt. “Hi. Listen, maybe the Bronze isn’t such a good idea.”
Buffy looked up from her seatbelt in disappointment, thinking that the perfect dancing outfit she had spent hours choosing had gone to waste. “Oh. Where did you want to go?”
“Well, its up to you. Clearly you don’t want to be seen with me so maybe we should just go hide under a rock or something?”
She looked completely confused and slightly hurt at his harsh tone. “Why would you say that? I don’t have a problem being seen with you.”
“Sure. And that’s why you were waiting all the way down here to be picked up instead of actually inside your house.”
Buffy looked slightly guilty, but that soon changed to irritation. “Spike, it has nothing to do with me. It’s true I didn’t want my parents to see you but that’s only because they have really specific ideas about who I’m allowed to go out with. Their latest candidate is Riley, you know, that champion from the alley? Yeah, a real prince. And I went to a lot of trouble to use my friend Willow as an alibi for tonight so excuse me for not wanting our date to be ruined by my parents having the police chase you off.” She crossed her arms over her chest and fixed him with a fierce glare.
Wow. She sure could be passionate when she wanted to be. Spike managed to look mollified and sheepish at the same time. “Sorry pet, I guess I just assumed you were ashamed of me. But that’s okay, see, ’cos every first date has an embarrassing bit and that was ours. So the rest will be great, yeah?” He gave her a boyishly hopeful grin.
Buffy’s face relaxed and she giggled. “Glad its out of the way then. Let’s go to the Bronze!” Spike nodded and pulled away from the curb, heading back towards the Bronze which was just on the outskirts of the other side of town. They made it there within fifteen minutes – Sunnydale really wasn’t that big. Spike had only been there once before with a couple of people his dad had introduced him to, but that was just to play pool and eat spicy chicken wings. Walking inside, Buffy immediately pulled him over to the last spare table.
“Do you want a drink, kitten?”
“Ummm, sure I’ll have a Bacardi and coke thanks.” She smiled winningly at him.
“Uh huh. And what would your parents say if they knew you wanted me to corrupt you with alcohol?”
“To be honest they wouldn’t care. I always drink.” His eyebrows rose in surprise but nodded ok, and walked off towards the bar. Oops. Lying on a first date, probably not the way to start a relationship. If that’s what this was going to be. But she really didn’t want him to think of her as a little girl who would hold him back from doing anything.
A few minutes went by and Spike still hadn’t come back. Buffy craned her neck over the crowd, a tough feat for a girl barely taller that 5 ft 3, and searched for him. She found him surrounded by Harmony, Cordelia and several other of their cleavage-buddies. Those skanks! Her worries and insecurities started flooding back in as she looked down at herself. Sure she was wearing a mini skirt and high heels, and her top left her back bare as well but almost her whole chest area was covered up. Buffy didn’t think Harmony’s boobs would recognize fabric if they saw it. Was he flirting with them? Or checking them out? But then Spike glanced over their heads and caught her eye, rolling his eyes in irritation as he motioned at them. She smiled and shrugged her shoulders, happy now to wait for him.

Good Christ did these bints have some sort of radar for him or something? He hadn’t even heard a word they’d said but assumed it had something to do with whatever they’d bought that day. The blonde chit, Harmony, was thrusting her chest out so far she looked like she was doing the limbo. He was seriously trying to reign in a huge laugh but then he glanced up and saw Buffy looking worriedly over at them. Crap. As long as she didn’t think he actually wanted to talk to these girls it would be okay, so he rolled his eyes and tilted his head towards them, feeling relived when her face broke out in a smile and she shrugged as if to say, ‘what can you do?’ Finally deciding that purely blunt actions would get his point across, Spike stepped right through the circle of girls and said, “I’m on a date with someone I actually want to listen to, so let me get back to it.” He grinned at the indignant squawking that followed.
*** “Oooh, thanks. Oh, that’s strong Bacardi,” Buffy held in her splutter almost convincingly. Spike grinned at her scrunched up face.
“So tell me, d’you go to those types of parties often with your parents?”
“Yeah, I kinda have to. My mom loves dressing up and meeting all those people, especially anyone who she can compete with, like wealth wise, and my dad has to go ’cos of all his business connections. I’m sort of dragged along to put on a show of ‘happy family’ or something.”
“Do you enjoy them?”
“Nah, not really. My best friends from school, Willow who I told you about and Xander, are never invited so I usually have no one to talk to. Although, believe me when I say talking to no one is better than talking to girls like Harmony or Cordelia.”
“Yeah I can see what you mean. Talk too long to them and you’d bleed from the ears.”
Buffy chuckled. “Gross. True, but gross.” She glanced at her finished drink and his empty beer bottle.
“Hey, d’you wanna dance? I really like this band.”
“Sure pet.”
Buffy grabbed his hand and pulled him to the middle of the dance floor. Dancing was one thing she absolutely loved doing and luckily there was a great song playing with a pretty good beat. Hmm, definitely time to show him she could flirt with the best of ’em. She stood in front of him so that they were facing eachother and started swaying her hips, lifting her arms up in the air. His eyes were fixed on her breasts which moved up under her top with the action. She turned around and he placed his hands on her hips as she kept moving, bringing her hands down to rest on top of his. Buffy moved backwards so that they were pressed together and she could feel his arousal. Ha! Definitely of the good. His hands slid around to wrap around her stomach so that they were even closer together, moving as one to the beat.

God she was trying to kill him. She was a complete paradox to him – sometimes shy and sometimes incredibly passionate. But the girl sure knew how to dance. He was mesmerized as she swayed in front of him, her hips swinging seductively. When she turned around to show him her bare back there was no way he could keep his hands to himself so he grabbed her hips firmly and started to move with her. Suddenly she moved back into his embrace. Crap! There was no way she didn’t feel his erection. But she didn’t seem to care, in fact he was sure the little minx was almost pushing into him harder with her ass. He had to feel more of her so he leaned forward and wrapped his arms completely around her.

Buffy turned around while they were still pressed together and tilted her head up invitingly. Spike immediately leaned down and captured her lips in a heated kiss, tongues dueling instantly. His hands were stroking the skin on her back, moving lower and lower. She was also rubbing his back and slipped her hands up under his shirt as well. He really wished there weren’t so many people around just at that moment because he wanted to show her a thing or two about playing with fire. They didn’t notice the song finishing and a new one starting, or the next few either. Both of them were just happy to keep kissing and groping in the darkness. Eventually they pulled away and realized a lot of time had passed. Each looking at the other’s flushed cheeks and swollen lips, they silently decided that there was no point going back to the table for conversation and Buffy was aware that she would be expected back from ‘Willow’s’ soon, so they headed out to the car with identical satisfied grins on their faces.

“Can you pull up out here, Spike?” Buffy gestured to the sidewalk just before her house.
“Oh, I guess your parents are home huh?”
“Actually, I doubt it. My mom’s never usually home past 8.30. The only reason she’d be home if she was throwing a dinner party at our house."
“And your da’?”
“I’m not sure. Sometimes he has too much work that he’s brought home. Actually it’s the people working for them that I don’t want to see us.”
“Are you talking about like... servants?”
“No! Well, maybe. More like just help around the house. Actually they run the house. But I swear dad gives them a raise every time one of them tells on me for doing something against their wishes. And making out with a boy in a car in the driveway is definitely a raise-worthy story.”
“Making out with a boy huh?”
Buffy looked at him mischievously. “Yeah, I’m meeting one up there after you’ve dropped me off.”
He growled and dragged her over to his lap so that she had one knee on either side of his legs.
“You better not be.”
She giggled. “Calm down, I was just joking. You’re kinda sweet when you’re jealous.”
“Sweet? I’ll show you sweet.”
Spike swooped in and kissed her possessively. She gasped into his mouth and clutched his shoulders, then reached around to play with the hair on the back of his head. His hands that had been resting on her hips slid down to cup her ass then moved even further to stroke her thighs that were revealed when her skirt rode up. Buffy mewled and ground down on him. He worked his hands up, pushing the skirt even higher as she kissed him harder. Well, she didn’t seem to be stopping him so he slid one hand in between them and found the front of her panties, dipping his hand inside and finding her almost soaked with arousal. One finger slipped in and pressed down on her clit so that she moaned into his mouth. He pushed that finger inside her and quickly added another one as his thumb came down to manipulate her clit. By now she was pressing hard down onto his hand so he sped up the thrusts of his fingers, curling them upwards until he found the section of nerves and rubbed her nub harder with his thumb.
“Spike! Oh, Spike…ahhh…” Buffy came loudly, shouting his name and biting her fingers even harder into his arms. Her lips detached from his and she laid her head on his shoulder as she calmed down. His left hand came up to stroke her hair soothingly as the other smoothed her skirt back into place. Finally she lifted her head to kiss him languidly.
“Buffy? Baby you better get inside before they come looking for you with torches.”
“Are you sure? What about, um, you?”
“Don’t worry about me. You’re beautiful you know that?”
The random comment distracted her and she blushed, but it was barely noticeable on her already flushed cheeks. “Thank you,” she murmured. “Will I see you soon?”
“I hope so kitten. ’ve got your number and you’ve got mine so we’ll organise something okay? ’ll give you a call.”
“Okay. See you soon.”
“See you luv. I’ll be dreaming of you.”
She kissed him goodbye again quickly and jumped out of the car. Scampering up to her house, she knew that she’d be dreaming of him too.
