Author's Notes: This is a personal challenge for myself. I’m attempting to see if I can write a short story limiting myself to three chapters. Well, I’m going to try anyway. . . . . I have no idea how long each chapter is going to be, but hey, I’m gonna write it anyway. . . . Title is from and . . . I don’t know if I’m gonna use quotes. . . but if I do, they are as attributed. My thanks again, to Tam, who did a stellar beta read-through on this, and any mistakes left are mine and not hers. Disclaimers prove that all belongs to Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy and anyone else that has a piece of the corporate pie that is BtVS.

Author's Notes: his isn’t going to be just three chapters. But I swear it isn’t going to be any huge, long epic type story. This is just something to help me get through this horrible writer’s block I’m having with Revelations. I hope you all enjoy this. I’m working through the block on the other, and hopefully should have something when I get back from a short vacation. My thanks to Tam, for her quick (and hilariously funny) beta work on this chapter. Disclaimers in full force and effect.

Author's Notes: Couple of things before I go into the text. There are a couple of new authors that I highly recommend – Satindoll and Jaesha. They have some really interesting and entertaining stories and after you read this chapter, go, run, read them and be kind, leave them lovely reviews. New authors should always be encouraged, otherwise we lose out and the fandom starts dying. And that’s not a good thing. Ah, two other things before I forget. My thanks, again, to Tam, who did a swift and superb beta job and sighed and swooned in all the right places when she did. The song, Bright Blue Rose, though I wish it otherwise, was not written by me. It was written by Jimmy MacCarthy (an Irish artist) and the version I have in my head was sung by Christy Moore (another Irishman) and it’s just so. . . . haunting. If you’ve a mind to go find it, it’s worth the listen. And since it’s sung by a tenor, and James is a tenor. . . well, you get where I’m going. So enjoy this chapter. . . . disclaimers in full force and effect.

Author's Notes: So you all had me pegged. There’s no way this story is over, so um, my original estimate of it being done in three chapters is officially out the window. How many chapters you ask. . . . and to that I have no answer at all. The good news is I am working on it, as well as the others. Hopefully the little rest I get over the holidays will help even more. I stole a line shamelessly from a movie. . . . can you guess which one? Disclaimers in full force and effect.

Author's Notes: Nope, still not done. . . and we’re now onto the fifth chapter. Eh, like any of you are surprised. My heartfelt thanks and praise to Tam, who once again did a stellar beta job and who always comes through when I need her. Disclaimers in full force and effect. I own nothing.

Author's Notes: Did any of you really believe me when I said this was only gonna be three chapters? Shit, even I didn’t believe me. *shakes head* I know, I know. Never underestimate how many ways I can drag out a story. *laughs* Oh, before I forget, the song used in this chapter, was written by Russell Crowe – yes that Russell Crowe – for his band Forty Odd Foot of Grunts (lovely name for a band isn’t it?). The name of the tune is “Inside Her Eyes”. And ah, the second song (with some minor lyric changes) is from His Infernal Majesty (HIM) a Finnish band and that song is “Bury deep inside your heart” and it’s very haunting. Disclaimers in full force and effect. I own nothing.

Epilogue ~ Reviews (3)
Author's Notes: Well, this is it, the end of this particular story. And hey, look! I only went three chapters and an epilogue past what I had (rather foolishly, I might add) predicted for this story. Thank you all for reading and leaving a review, I do appreciate every single one and I hope everyone enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it (what fun to write Buffy and Spike free of any baggage at all!). Thanks everyone. Special thanks to Spikeslovebite and to Addie Logan for their constant support and cheerleading (and the image of you two cheering is enough to make me laugh for hours!). I love you both. Disclaimers in full force and effect.
