I enjoyed your description of the opulent home and Spike's reaction to its Victorian decor was amusing. The wizard made just the offer Buffy couldn't refuse.

The way you're highlighting the age difference is interesting. I haven't seen it often in stories (or in the actual show), but of course, if Spike existed for over a century, he'd have all kinds of references and experiences that would be unfamiliar to a sixteen-year-old Buffy; the Carson bit in the last chapter; the house makes him think Halloween and Buffy think Scream, which is the parody of all of those horror flicks; Buffy thinks about "beautiful" Victorian dresses and Spike dreads the simpering socialite; Subtle and funny. I hope the wizards are really good guys. It would be nice if they could save Joyce.
