Cute segue from Pluto's demotion into Buffy's I love you. :) I'm still annoyed at the wizard family except for poor Kyle. Kyle's grandfather's dying and asks after the book and not his grandson? Tough family! I know, I know, bad things happen if they don't get the book. Glad Kyle has Spike and Buffy to save him.

So that's the reason Margot needs the book so badly. Sounds dire if they don't succeed. I'm still not too fond of Margot, she's a little too lighthearted this chapter. Teasing Buffy and Spike and flirting with Giles, for a mother whose son has been kidnapped she doesn't seem very distressed. Poor Kyle.

I like that you've got a great plot going in this story. You have so many things going on: Buffy's capture and the demon clans, whose culture you're showing a little bit so they aren't cardboard villains, Margot's scheming which we're not totally filled in on yet, and Ethan Rayne manipulated into being helpful. Add in the wizards' council's dilemma and the possibility of helping Joyce and you really have a doozy of a plot. It feels fleshed out and I can't figure out when or what the next twist will be, which is nice. Of course, too, the Spuffy interactions are lovely. :) I hope Spike can find Buffy in time.
